The open tournament on Friday, August 25 for SnapCon will be based on a “pod” system. The tournament is open to anyone attending SnapCon.
Each pod consists of 8 players. During SnapCon, any players who are interested in playing in a pod at any time can visit the Tournament area and register. Once there are 8 players who have signed up, the pod can start playing in a best of 8 bracket. The winner of each pod will secure their spot in the single elimination tournament on Day 2 (Saturday, August 26).
Players may play in as many pods as they would like on Day 1.
Players can check in by registering at the Tournament area, and waiting for their pod to fill up with 8 players. Once the pod fills up, one of the tournament organizers will announce the matchups for each player. Players can begin when they are ready.
After you have completed a match, take a screenshot of the victory/defeat screen for your records in case there is a dispute. Report your results to a tournament organizer.
Once you are done, the tournament organizer will let you know who your next opponent is. You may need to wait if they are still in a match.
In the event a player is disconnected during a match, the players will call a tournament organizer over to their table. The players will then restart the match and forfeit as necessary to return to the state of the match before the disconnection happened (purposefully lose the amount of cubes that have been lost previously in the match for each player and restart the match that was in progress).
In the event of a second disconnection by the same player, that player forfeits the bracket.
Players in the Top 32 need to check in by 1:15PM by visiting the Tournament area. Players will need to register their deck, which will indicate the deck and the cards that are being used. This deck shall be the deck the participant will use through the entire Top 32 bracket.
Once all players have checked in, the tournament organizer will post the bracket. If you need help finding your opponent, a staff member/tournament organizer can help you.
